DAY WORKSHOP BUTTERFLY | OPEN WATER | Sun. Sept 3 10am-00pm
Course period 3 Sep 10:00 – 17:00
This butterfly stroke workshop is suitable for anyone who can swim or float with their face in the water. You don't have to be very fit or strong: swimmers of all
levels have learned to swim the butterfly stroke with the Shaw Method. You may have some experience with the trick, or have never tried it. This course takes you through all the exercises for the Shaw Method butterfly stroke: great for beginners and an ideal refresher for those who have already taken lessons.
The aim of the course is to be able to fly freely. Do you think this is impossible? We show you how to swim the butterfly as a graceful and easy-to-maintain stroke. We show that despite the traditional image, the butterfly is not an extra challenging stroke compared to the other three strokes. Students who have suffered from tension, a stiff back or sciatica in the lower back have indicated that they actually benefit from the butterfly of the Shaw Method.
At the end of the course you will be able to:
- using your head as a 'driver' during the battle
- using the butterfly's four-wheel drive
- calmly and relaxed let your arms move forward over the water
- make a soft and smooth wave motion
- swim in a steady and regular rhythm so that the water carries your body
- breathe with ease
