BACK CRAWL | 3-week basic course | Start Wed 7 Dec. 18:30-20:30 – Amsterdam
Course period 7 Dec – 21 Dec 18:30 – 20:30
This back crawl course is suitable for anyone who can swim and/or float and would like to learn how to swim in a calm, flowing and sustainable back crawl.
The advantage of the back crawl is that it opens your chest, unlike, for example, the position in which you sit in front of a computer, and that the problem of breathing underwater is not there. Actually, every front crawl swimmer should also swim a lap back crawl every 4 laps (25% of the time), because you give the muscles a rest and train exactly the opposite muscles.
With back crawl you burn the most (!) calories of all swimming strokes. Mind you, it's not a 'relaxed' shot and it's not an easy one either. However, once you have a nice technique, it is wonderful to do and extremely healthy for your neck, shoulders and back!
During the course you will discover how to:
- experience the natural buoyancy of your body
drastically reduce the amount of effort you exert during your swim
- can use the rotation of your body to increase your streamlining
- recognize the importance of preparing for a movement
We recommend getting in the water at least once a week to practice. In the first lesson, the teacher will give you tips to plan your practice sessions.
